New age capital in funky Totnes

Art inspired people and those who believe in spiritual healing and
lifestyles could be right at home in Devon, a town which has been
dubbed as one of the new age capitals of the world.
The town of Totnes in Devon was voted as the centre of new age chic
by Time Magazine in 2007 for its alternative and art inspired
surroundings, as well as what it offers visitors and residents
alike.
Totnes itself is located in Devon at the mouth of the river Dart.
It is a civil parish and small town comprising of some just 7,000
or so people, perfect for those who are looking for somewhere to
relax in a region laden with theatre, music and art.
For those with an arty background, looking for
property for sale in Totnes could prove a very fruitful
venture. The town hosts weekly markets, where people trade in
artwork, musical instruments, books, handmade clothing and other
things. There are also facilities for those who want to provide
their own artistic output, with places for artists and musicians to
practice and perform available throughout the town.
And if arts and crafts are not for you, then Totnes also offers a
number of other attractive reasons to live there. For history
buffs, the town could be particularly appealing. It has more listed
building per head than any other town in the country, which include
such places as Norman castles and the Elizabethan decorative arched
entrance to the town, which was rebuilt after being destroyed in a
fire in 1990.
Those who wish to work in the city whilst enjoying this unique
rural lifestyle can also do so easily, with Exeter located a mere
22 miles from Totnes being easily accessible.
