Taylor Wimpey climbs top retailer sells list

Taylor Wimpey has restored some confidence to the property market
by climbing to fourth place in the top retailer sells list.
According to TD Waterhouse, the construction company has enjoyed a
revival of its share price, something which may prove to be good
news for the sector.
Angus Rigby, chief executive officer at TD Waterhouse, said: "The
house builder gave a more stable outlook for the housing market as
it announced a £971 million (73 per cent) increase in its
current order book."
However, he added that Halifax as recorded a 0.5 per cent decline
in property prices since the end of June, which is a reminder that
although the market is recovering, some part may not be out of the
woods yet.
Taylor Wimpey reported some more positive news at he end of June,
when it revealed that it had seen a 73 per cent rise in the number
of orders received when compared to the end of last year.
